IC434- B33 HaLrgb

Hi all,
had some time to add more data to my Ha/ Lum image and also to add some colour.
Had to do a gem flip to get my green channel and this of course reversed that 5th spike I have, so had to clone out the damn thing in PS.
Lots of little issue I need to sort out with my setup, especially in this area of the sky where my mount needs to be spot on.
Am pretty much over the Horse Head now (saturated you might say)... been a while since I last imaged it and am happy to leave it for a year or so now....
always a hard object to deal with, what with Alnitak casting gradients and enhancing the faint, subtle details of the dark regions....mmm
Here's the Ha/Lum rgb.
Hit left thumb... warning this file is 600kb+ (sorry)

Here is the newer version of my Ha/ Lum combo for comparison.

Hope you're getting in some time out under the night skies.!

Cheers

Rich

Wow, that's an incredible shot. Very "close up" view. Great image scale.

Beautiful stuff Richard.

Very Nice Richard, one of the nicest images of this region I have seen in a while..very well done!!!
Do you get any reflections with the coma corrector from Alnitak? I imaged this last night with my new mpcc and I get a faint reflection of the diffraction spikes.
I still have the 5th spike too, as the focus with the mpcc is only 6mm outwards and the focuser is still protruding a bit....
Cheers Gary

Hey thanks heaps Dennis, Ric, Iceman, Gary and Tony.

I've found my drama with why my tracking wasn't all that great, hot weather had made my gear cover slip onto my RA pulley.... damn hot weather makes things move around... fixed now though.
Would have been nice to have perfect round stars which I know this mount can do out to 2min unguided, but alas, wasn't to be for this image.
That's this hobby all over at times.... and life, hey! Little bumps that make things interesting.

Gary, I did notice that with my green channel that it picked up a reflection from Alnitak, this was more a bubble effect than a reflection of my spikes. But as for the other channels, they seemed to be ok.
I'm glad the MPCC worked out ok. A great priced piece of equipment for sure. Well worth the money. I'd like to try the Keller coma corrector as these are x .73 so would quicken things up. They are very expensive though having ED glass in them. Be nice to borrow one to check out what they can do.
The tracking down my 5th spike still eludes me.... got me stumped.

Thanks again and cheers guys.

Rich
