Wanted~ Synscan Controller Cable

hi folks, as stated in the title, i am one cable away from goto

having procured a 205a controller cheaply i now require the cable that connects said controller to my heq5 mount (giving me essentially a heq5 pro )
if anyone has a spare of these cables I will gladly purchase it off you

you should join up with the yahoo group EQ6 to find all your answers David, they are very helpful. http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/EQ6/ BTW I posted a question to see if the cabling is the same on the HEQ5 as the EQ6....

Ving, I assume you want the cable that runs from the handbox to the HEq5. There look to be 3 cable options, Hbox-Heq5, Heq5 Guiding and Handbox-Db9 for PC interface. If the handbox cable is Rj45-45 and has no transpositions you may be able to use a standard cat 5 patch cable. I have heaps of flat cable, connectors and crimping tool so I can make a full set up for you. I wouldn't be able to post it until monday though.

Call Ian James at Tasco.

That's who I called when I needed a replacement cable which connects my V2.05a hand controller to my EQ6.

Cost about $25 (from memory)

The reply I got was...

A diagram is not required as EQ5/HEQ5s uses a straight through 8
poistion Modular Cable (RJ45 connector type) on both ends.

Pin 1 on side is connected to Pin 1 on the other side, Pin2 to Pin2 on
the other side, and so on.

Hope this helps Ving..

. Hmm just noticed in the emanuelle it was an RJ45-45 that connects the Hbox to the mount on the HEQ5 and a DB9-Rj45 on the Eq6, The RJ11 is used for comms betwen the handbox and your PC if required. From what A1 is saying a standard cat 5 flylead should work (and cost a lot less than $25.00)

yes $25 is a bit extreme for something that should only cost you $10 or less in parts.

That $25 includes postage.

Also, I'm not sure the exact cable Ving needs. I may have suggested something more costly than he needs?

Regardless... call Ian James if you've not got it sorted by the weekend

David these are obtainable from any computer store or Dork Smith etc and should cost less than $10. No need to get it made up.
