Question Life Elsewhere?

Does anyone believe that there is life out there on other planets?
I think that it is so big that there has to be life somewhere....
but post your opinions

There is definitely life out there somewhere, we just haven't found it.
It could be of a different molecular structure and not even carbon based.

There are little crabs that live around undersea vents that release Sulphur and make the surrounding area highly acidic and toxic but they are quite happy. There are also microbes that live in solid rock and others that survive next to nuclear reactors.

Life is very diverse and adaptable and space is big, so I am quite confident that life is everywhere.

Cheers

I believe there is life out there. We'll even find it within our solar system. Though I believe that the chances of us making contact with intelligent lifeforms are close to nil. Worst luck.

I think the questions could be (so as to comptemplate the possiblities)..
"How long ago did life appear in the Universe?" (within the first billion years? 2nd etc etc) or if a steady stater has it always been there????
"How many species more developed than ours (us rather) are out there?"
"Has intelligent life existed for only hundreds of years or has it been around for billions of years?"
AND " Given the answers you come up with..should we not be building battle stars to protect ourselves when the day comes that we meet our first batch?"
Speculate as you wish as I have a feeling any answers given can not be disproven,
But what if we are it? could you live with that? mmm for me on that realisation I would be off to church to pray for all humanity .

Why is it that we think that if there is intelligent life 'out there' they will be more advanced than we? Is it because we dread the prospect of being looked up to and not being able to deliver? Do we see ourselves as poor role models? what? Are we hoping for a race of messiah types to come and bestow technological gifts and remedies for all our woes?

Doug I would not be woried one bit if all humans were like you and me but what if I die..that leaves you with the whole mess.
Looking for such a race had not occured to me but that prospect has given me hope. But what if they are not that way we still need a battle star.

Of course there is life elsewhere - they are just waiting to see our warp engine signature.

That's gone and done it, even the microbes won't want to know us. Just think in a few more years they will be getting "Neighbours"

Geez, I wonder what they will think of 'Superman', and 'Astroboy'?

They'll think we can fly and that 'The Flying Nun' is our Planets Chaplain,

Probably sounds silly but often at the scope I wonder if as I look at them do they look at me..
I like thinking about the posibility of alternative social structures that may have evolved in species that have been around for a billion years or so before us.... and what they may do on their days off.
