Need an accesories / eyepiece case

Ever drooled over the waterproof Pelican cases and thought that they would make the ideal EP case, well Bunnings have a copy for $99 and it's quite a decent size, pluck foam lined and a nice visible orange colour.

hmm, $99 is pricey but probably a lot better than the $20 aluminium case that most of us end up with.

What size are they?

An equivalent in a Pelican case would be over double that amount. Size is around 430x380 from memory (may be slightly samller or bigger), I'll let you know at the weekend when I have one.

I can highly recommend them dust proof and waterproof.

I should add they come in three sizes.

Picked one up yesterday, it has 4 internal layers of foam, 2 being pluck foam and the other 2 corrugated, hinge pins are metal and I stood on the case to test its rigidity with no ill effects. The lid has an O ring seal and as John says is dustproof and waterproof, my only dislike is that the clips that hold the lid closed are a little hard to open but hopefully should loosen up with use. The final size is 430x380x154 external.

515 x 415 x 200mm is the largest Andrew. Check Anna's or Petra's out at Lostock.

Also consider Equipment cases with Pluck foam from Music equipment stores. They usually keep replacement blocks of precut foam too.

Heres mine

We have a couple of these at work .. and looking at one beside my pelican case they arn't to differant .. maybe the pelicans are a little more
(read overkill ) reinforced here and there but take to either with a baseball bat and you'll work pretty hard to do any damage ...great value !

I'm not a big fan of the pluckin foam though .. mine did get pretty ratty after a year or two and is now replaced

Went to one Bunnings store yesterday. Had no idea what I was describing Searched all over - not found. OK, I'll try a different store with a photograph in hand!

What section of the store were they in?
