march of the frogs...

not sure whats going on here but there seems to be alot of frogs hiding in peoples backyards at the mo! since winter we have had 2-3 striped march frogs, about a dozen little tree frogs and a perons tree frog go thru out backyard!

i wonder if they have alway been this comon in this area?

anyhow, last night in teh still darkness i heard the shrill cry of yet another perons tree frog being tormented by a small dog. sounds quite horrific really when you hear it!
I saw the little guy briefly and was tempted to jump the fence to rescue him, but the neighbour got there before i did so he's safe now I hope .
quite pretty little frogs they are

Yep.

There's nothing wrong with froggies

Meant to be a good sign (environmentally) when they're seen in abundance

Recent rain has brought 'em out?

Maybe they've been in semi hibernation.
They are beautiful, sometimes comical little creatures.

We get them here as well in the dry weather, they hide in garden pots, anywhere where they're likely to get some water, although I wouldn't say it's a sign of a healthy environment....
