FS: Canon 17-40f4 L lens -SOLD-

I recently upgraded to the 16-35f2.8 so need to offset the considerable purchase price by selling this lens. I don't have any pics with me at work but the lens looks like new with no dust, marks, dints, fungus etc.

The date code on the lens is US1101 which means that it was made in November 2004 so it isn't very old.

These lenses are pretty hard to come by 2nd hand as they are a brilliant lens and I'm only selling it as I now have a slightly better lens (f2.8).

Comes with lens, caps, soft case and original box. I may have the next to useless manual but I need to confirm that.

Asking price is $830pp.

I have sold a 200mmf2.8 and a 550EX flash on here with no complaints

samples of images taken with the lens (they look pretty crap this small and with heavy compression, higher res images look top notch)

ah man

I'm sure it'll sell no problems. I just can't afford it for the next few months. Thanks for listing it here though. A few months ago (before I got the sigma 17-70) I would've got it for sure

Me too, and I wouldn't bother going the f2.8 as this lens does all I want and more, but weighs and costs half.

Weight isn't an issue compared to most of my other lenses and I have used f2.8 a few times already. I just did some test shots and the 17-40 is far sharper at the zoom end. Hmmmmm

petal you'll need to be careful with your 16-35, the difference in sample to sample can be huge. I took me a few samples to get a good one.

Thats why I ignore most lens tests.
