Thumbs up Star Trek Enterprise

The last week I've been watching the first season of Star Trek Enterprise on DVD and have really enjoyed it . Because of the wacky hours Ch9 put the show on and when they decide to run it and the somewhat bad feedback on the series I never really gave it a chance to check it out. It's a shame the show was cancelled so far it's been a winner for me ....check it out if your inclined for sci fi or something that offers a optimistic view

YEs, the timeslot killed it IMHO. I've never really watched past the first few episodes because of that. I already own the entire series of New Gen and Voyager, so I'll have to get the lot again for Enterprise too. I can miss DS-9 because I've never taken to it at all.

Yep Stuart,

I'm a Star Trek Enterprise fan! I like the show. I was watching it every night on Pay TV, but they have now started a 'Sci-Fi' channel and moved it to there, and the new Sci-Fi channel costs more to have

So I haven't seen it since they moved it a few weeks back!!!!

And the winner for worst Captain is Scott Bakula

Hi All,

I found the Star Trek Enterprise dissapointing from every aspect. The writers did not make the effort to come up with genuine firsts for this series. They distorted the traditional timeline where at least the Next Gen, DS9 and Voyager were in most parts true to the original (notable exception Zephren Cochran).

The worst possible choice for Captain is by far Scott Bakula, when you look at the past Captains each has a strength of character that Scott could never attain (his dog has greater presence).

Even worse is having a Vulcan aboard, the biggest oversight to date.

Love the Star Trek universe but dissapointed with the attempt the producers made with Star Trek Enterprise.

Why? To quote Wikipedia.org:

Quote:
Star Trek:Enterprise takes place in 2151, ten years before the founding of the Federation and about halfway between the 21st century events shown in the movie Star Trek: First Contact and the original Star Trek.
First contact had already been made, so I'm not sure that it's not plausible to have a Vulcan aboard..... and besides... it's Jolene Blalock

I liked Enterprise, though it wasn't nearly as good as the other star treks. The captian really needs to be a good actor to make these shows successful.

If you need a dose of really good sci-fi check out Battlestar Gallactica - good acting and the script keeps you guessing.

I love Enterprise. Because of the late showing by channel 9 I bought the complete 4 seasons box sets off ebay. Damn things shipped straight from China Still watchable DVD episodes in English, but nevertheless it is pirated sub standard quality product

I supose I had better "come out" too........
I admitt I have every movie and every episode of every series all on DVD, no dubs, all the real thing, and as I sit here typing , I have one playing in the background all the time........
Not a real Trekie, as I would never be seen dead in drag, but I really love the story lines.
I recon most people didn't get that Enterprise is set as the "first" series....even before good old captin Kurk...........
If you didn't watch the very first episode, It takes a fair while to work it all out....a shame.
I believe Enterprise had the potiental to be the best of the lot....

cheers
