LB owners - steps needed when removing primary mirror

Hi all

Looking for LB owners that have removed their primary mirror.

Can someone please provide a step by step on how to remove safely and replace primary mirror. Hints or tips - what needs to be done in order etc. Pics would also be of great benefit.

Cheers Petra

Hi Petra

It is quite a simple job. 1st sit the main tube containing the mirror face down on the floor so that you are looking at the fan unit. 2nd remove the 6 or so screw which scure the mirror cell to the main tube. 3rd once all screws are removed you then can lift the whole mirror cell out of the tube.

The mirror itself is just supported by three rubber lugs and double sided tape on the three triangle supports. Use dental floss to cut through the double side tape first then just unscrew the six screws, remove the lugs. The mirror is ready to be removed from the cell.

To assemble just do the reverse. You will need some more double side tape for the triangle supports. I suggest that you position the triangle supports evenly and than only remove and stick down the double side tape at the point closed to the fan unit.

I hope this helps

Anthony
