Ngc 7184

This galaxy is NGC 7184, a fascinating galaxy and incredibly rich field of faint fuzzies. this was a super quick image taken while testing out my new observatory location with 20mins per RGB channel and 3 hrs of Lum. the lack of colour data really threw me, i had to play around with i a lot just to get a decent image out and it made the colour balancing particularly difficult. this is probably too faint a galaxy to have such little data but it is all i could manage on the night. i was really happy with the quality of the seeing (FWHM in the low 2" and possibly in the 1's) though poor collimation is masking the sites true potential. i am happy with how this turned out given the limited running and that it was a set up and tear down in a single night.

it seems like this was an average night for seeing, nothing indicates it was anything exceptional so I am looking forward to seeing how good it can get. Weather is generally pretty dry, it is amazing to watch he sky change from cloud to clear every time I go over the blue mountains and head west.

Thanks guys, i am really happy with the new location, when i think about the last 2 years of frustration, the seeing was so bad in my last location that all my software didn't work, focusmax, pmpro, guiding ... such a relief to have good skies. now to build the obs

Thanks

Collimation shouldnt be a problem, it is just i have to travel off-road to get to the site and it moved things around a bit. it will be a while before i post too many more pics, the next step is to build the obs
