Clear Skies - 2 days in a row!

Wow, clear night last night and clear again tonight!

Planning to head out tonight for some widefield shots on the tripod (tracked on the EQ platform), and then maybe again later for Saturn..

Although I was up at 3am this morning imaging Saturn, so not sure another night of little sleep is such a good idea

First consecutive clear nights in what feels like 2 months!

Yep. I got the 9.25 out there again tonight Mike.

This time I'm hopeful for better seeing conditions for my first Saturn for the season.

It's been ages since I captured and processed. My 4x Powermate hasn't arrived yet but I think I'll stick to the 2x barlow and 2.5x Powermate

Surely you know that cloud cover will be localised?

Bad for western sydney... great for the rest of us

Just clouds, haze and an ocean mist down here. There have been a few little breaks here and there for an hour or two but then it closes up shop around midnight.
It's a blessing that the 8" is so portable compared to the 12" it only takes a few minutes to set up, I can wait for a decent break in the clouds and off I go.

It's good to see that a few of us are getting good imaging runs, best of luck everyone

cheers

We still have a fair bit of smoke haze, and now a mixture of cloud and smoke haze .

Cheers Petra

Saturday night was good and Sunday night was better .
Why do the best conditions always occur on a Sunday night ? I could have stayed out for hours longer if not for having to work

We actually had some rain down here last night for about an hour, not much but enough to produce that great fresh smell. Then the clouds hung around as usual.

cheers
