Celestron CGX 925

Hi everyone,

I am thinking of selling my Celestron CM1100 and replacing it with a CGX925,
as I am approaching 70 the CM1100 is getting too heavy to set up.
I was wondering if anybody has purchased the CGX925 and what their opinion
was of this instrument.

Many thanks Tom.

I have a CGX mount, and i am 67. I have mine on a pier in my observatory and would not want to move it too often. It is heavy. Advertised as portable but the head unit is awkward to manage, and your looking at 20Kg for the head alone. If your considering the 9.25, are you thinking of the Edge HD, a better choice in my opinion. Is this for visual use or imaging? The CGX will not have any problems with the 9.25, or the 11, the 14 might be marginal for imaging setup on the tripod but could work on a pier ok.
