a droopy trojan

ok fairs fair, have you cleaned the virus yet. being a trojan it might be prudent to see if you can get a cleaner for it from symantec, IE stand alone exe file. Just in case the existing antivirus doesnt get rid of it

Nod32 told me it was there and submitted the files for inspection and Vet stomped on it when i ran it.
have to check the other machines on the network now i spose

maybe later - time for lunch and to see if there is enough beer in the fridge for to-nite to wash the hedgehogs down with.

Ease up please Mike, no one anywhere is the lesser for technical details or shortcommings, it is a big broad cyber world that cant always be accounted for and as far as i can see there was only a touch of spamming.
I apologise if my notion is ignorant or misfounded.
Most respectfully and sincerely yours,
Steve.

it was fine for a couple of weeks then the other day it came back again. norton has updated since and can get rid of it. i know this because vundofix couldnt find it this time.... if you want vundofix just tell me and i'll get it for you

stephen mate, you dont need to wipe everything.

heres a link to my fix on beeping computer... follw the directions on there exactly (more or less)
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic73964.html

alternatively do the following:
1. turn off restore
2. run vondo fix http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4
3. restart.

make sure your virus definitions are up to date.
this worked for me.
NAV has updated and now can handle vundo.
