Deep space live from 12 noon today

I'm a complete fan of these lunatics from Salt Lake City, Utah, and I hope this might be of interest to other IIS'ers. They've been off-air for a while getting their new Webster 28" dob (ServoCAT, Argo Navis, MallinCam etc) in working order, but today (lunch time, 14th Dec our time), they are apparently ready to start a session of live streaming. The views were extraordinary through the 14" they used to use, and the promise is of better to come - however, expect some delays and stuff-ups (all part of the show!). Viewing is free, and advice, technical info etc can be obtained in associated chat room (log in as a guest). Just got this email:

Best Holiday Greetings to you! Well, I think we have it sorted out. I'm flying solo tonight, but I think it will work out just fine. The views are without question spectacular. We will be having a showing tonight, Wednesday the 13th, starting at about 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time (UT -8 hrs).

There's not much more to say. Go to:

Use that Userplane chat for last minute updates. I'll be keeping Josh and Erik posted for there.

Cheers -

Update

Well, not a lot happened at first because of cloud, but later in the afternoon (their night), they did get going. I missed most of it, but got in at the end, and have attached a couple of poor quality images (Flame Neb & Owl PN) I snapped off the computer screen. Interference etc. They were still viewing through light cloud. Apparently they intend to go the next couple of afternoons, and their forecast is better for tomorrow.

Cheers -

Pity their last two attempts were thwarted by clouds. If they get clear skies and go ahead with "Monday night" as proposed, this is our Tuesday afternoon, and we'd get the streaming from lunch time, Tuesday. Best way to get advance notice is to register for email notification.

You do see some strange things - have attached screenshot I took of the Horsehead from one of their screenings (4 images resized, cropped & processed in Registax - yes, I know I'm an obsesso loser!!), showing a satellite trace through the shot at bottom left.
