NGC 4755 - The Jewel Box Cluster
Last night I imaged the Jewel Box under pretty good conditions. It must have been a good night because the fog rolled in 10 minutes after I had finished.
Cheers
Steve

Thanks Peter. One of those nights where everything went right. Of course it is an easy object. Not like the things I normally go after.

Good pic Steve.
I love it how one star is orange.
It's also a great target to test & compare eyepieces.
cheers

Thanks Allan. There are a few other clusters that have a red star too. NGC 3293 is one that springs to mind.

Great cluster image Steve, it really is a gem
One
minor recommendation, the sharpening looks just a tad harsh, causing ring artefacts around the bright stars, if you could back this off a little I think the bright stars would look more natural and glow a little more

Thanks for the feedback Mike. I honestly didn't think I used a lot of sharpening but it was processed in haste so I might go back and take a bit more time over it.

It absolutely glows and sparkles. Beautiful.
And good to see an open cluster.
Best,
