Thumbs up Terrigal Sunrise - 21st Nov

Hi all

Around the 20th November the fires were still burning around various parts of NSW and the weather report predicted haze the next morning.

I thought it might be a good opportunity to take some sunrise shots, hoping for some nice colours as the sun shines through the haze.

So I went off to Terrigal skillion area and took the shots below.

Before the Sun rose, the colours were drab as heavy cloud blocked anything coming through. Once the Sun rose above the clouds, the colours started coming out like I anticipated they would..

I almost packed up and went home when there was no colour, got up to the car and turned around, and the sun had risen above the clouds and the spectacular yellows and oranges came out.

350D + Sigma 17-70, on manfrotto 055ProB tripod for the pre-sunrise shots. The last shots were handheld. ISO100, f/11.

Processed in RawShooterPremium, then sharpen+websize in Photoshop.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks Dave

The DSLR is good enough to extract them out at the correct orientation, even when taken in portrait mode

Wow awesome colours Mike

I really love the blue hues in the water especially.

Glad you didn't give up, it paid off in the end.

beatiful ambience, an atmosphere of devotions, Mike.
my faforite is „sunrise1“.

I take many sunrise- und sunset shots also,
but all araound my house,
not comparable with such incredible “moved silence”
