Bresser 152mm f5 Petzval Corrected Achro

I have decided to let my Bresser AR-152mm f5 Petzval corrected achromat go to a new home. This scope is only available through Teleskop-Express in Germany so it is a direct import. I bought it in June 2016 and it has been used for narrowband imaging since then. It is in near new condition, with no blemishes, and clean and clear optics.

The short focal length of the MESSIER AR-152S combines outstanding tranportability and high light gathering power. Due to a superachromatic-like correction, the chromatic aberration is reduced. The stars are tiny round disks even at the edge, the are not distorted. A field flattener is also not needed.

The 2" Hexafoc focuser is strong enough to support and imaging train and can rotate. I have added the optional dual speed transmission to the focuser, the original single speed gear is included as well.

The modified Petzval system can also be used visually, even with 2" widefield eyepieces you get pinpoint stars to the edge.

Of course, a short tube is easier to transport than a long one, but additionally, the lever arms are shorter when the instrument is mounted, so the tendency to oscillate is decreased. The OTA weighs just 10.6kg.

This telescope is only an optical tube without mount and tripod.

Comes with:
♦ 8x50 straight through viewfinder reticle
♦ Optimized finder socket for comfortable use
♦ Cradle rings with handle and integrated piggyback camera holder (1/4" thread)
♦ Dovetail plate with stainless steel rail
♦ 50.8 mm (2") to 31.7 mm (1.25") adapter with integrated T2-thread (T2 adapter ring for your camera is needed).

Here are a couple of images taken with this scope:

Photos of the Bresser 152mm f5 are attached.

I am asking $650 for this unique large aperture, modified achromat refractor.

I have the original shipping boxes and padding and could ship it to any address in Australia at the buyers additional expense. If you wish to have it shipped I will need a post code from you for a shipping quote.
Local pickup is ideal, or I can meet up with the buyer somewhere on the Central Coast of NSW. I cannot deliver to Sydney.

If your interested in this scope please PM me here at IIS.

Glen,

If your sale does not complete, please let me know.
I am about to place an order with Teleskop-Express for a Bresser 127L, but have considered the 152S as well. I could easily go either way.

Cheers Phil
