Small Magellanic Cloud NB/RGB

Well, i feel that im finally starting to tame both my camera and the whole NB lark. This data is from early-mid October, by then i had started to try lower gain settings (75) that have helped with star colours and going deeper for neb detail.

Im trying to go for a natural rgb look in my images, i hope you like my attempt! Its certainly a different look...

It's a great field Simon! I'm still deciding whether or not to do a 6 panel mosaic of this area, think it may be getting a bit late this season :/

If you were after a more "natural" look you may need to increase the brightness of the LRGB data. If you were just going for a bi-colour narrowband with RGB stars then you've done a good job

That's a really interesting look to this galaxy. I am not sure I have seen it at this scale before. It is more elongated that I had previously thought. Very interesting look. Colours look good.

Colin, i suppose i was just trying a mid-way point between the usual nb look and RGB. Im settling on 30 secs for rgb data so another time therell be even more rgb stars. And yes, a mosaic would be kewl.

Yes Paul, i too was surprised at its length, one could pretty much image aspects of it for months.

Yeah interesting Simon, certainly plenty of nebulae in that field. I'm looking at it at work in bright lighting so not the best, I'll take another look at home in my "perfect" screen view processing environment
