F1's Bernie Eccelstone has at last been shown the door.
Read his very colourful story here. http://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/38721123
Here's hoping for a brighter future for formula.
Cheers
Yes, I have thought it was time for ages. Given it was more or less a quote from him that if you could not afford a Rolex then he was not interested in advertising to you it was time for a change.
Just in time I hope for the TV rights to expire, I have not watched any F1 at all since the end of the 2015 season and very little since the Foxtel deal. Carve it out and offer me an all you can eat streaming service for $10 a month and I would be there with bells on. By all you can eat I mean live streaming of the current race and on demand of past races. Why not make money from the back catalog instead of spending money trawling YouTube to find user uploaded F1 to issue take down notices against.
Interesting to note that one of Chase Carey's first orders of business was to register his intent to preserve the traditional European races.. Hopefully we will see a departure from Bernie's "Vampire economics'
That would be nice. I have always thought that Bernie would cut Monaco if some tiny little country most of the world knows nothing about offered him enough money for its spot.
