First light with new camera and L glass, Orion

I got a new DSLR and a bunch of nice glass for christmas and a clear night finally rolled around so I figured I'd give it a crack at some astro. It did pretty well with the conditions, with some cool weather and a dark site it could do nicely but with the sensor at ~40degrees and light polloution the results are a bit limited.

Canon 80d & 70-200 f2.8 @ 135mm-f5.6 with finder guider on NEQ6

48 x 180sec lights @ iso800
14 x darks

Lovely shot Tim! Looking forward to more!

I also got a new DSLR. Of course now the weather is set to rain for the next 50 years...

ISO setting.

What ISO setting was used on Orion with your Canon 80D?

That's really nice, Tim, nice and smooth.

You have got a lot of the faint stuff around Alnilam and Mintaka in the belt.

Top job
