NGC1360 - Robin's Egg Nebula

[Ryderscope (Rodney)]

I was inspired by Mike Sidonio's superb rendition of this object so decided to have a crack at Robin's Egg with the TSA120. (Hope you don't mind me using your image as a benchmark Mike ).

Captured lots of data on this one and was difficult to process to try and bring out all of the detail. I haven't been able to bring out as much as the data promised so will need to look at the processing a bit more closely. Overall though I think it has scrubbed up ok. Any feedback to assist will be greatly appreciated.

Details:
Hardware: QSI683; Tak TSA120 (with .85x reducer); EQ8 mount.
Software: SGP Pro; PI 1.8
Acquisition:
L 44 @ 300 = 3.67
R 20 @ 600 = 3.33
G 30 @ 300 = 2.50
B 24 @ 600 = 4.00
OIII 17 @ 1200 = 5.67
Ha 15 @ 1800 = 7.50
Total integration = 26.67 hrs

Rodney, that is a really fine job. It's a small target for your scope. Lovely and smooth, with nice subtle detail, and razor sharp stars. The long exposure paid off.

Bravo Rodney. I've got quite a bit of data on this one, but I'm struggling to get good processing. It's not easy and you've done a good job on it.

Looking forward to the output from your data Geoff. The challenge I found was separating the noise from the surrounding halo of the nebulosity without losing too much detail.

I can't seem to open the larger Astrobin image link, only the small main page one with the roll-over..?... still, looking at your small version attached it looks really good. This is one of those subtle but beautiful objects and you have done it justice. Lot of work there too.

Glad my image was a catalyst for you too
