Alex I doubt it flew in for the Arctic winter. Mum must be somewhere nearby fretting. It looks too young to have been sold as a pet. But then what would a city slicker like me know?
Cheers,
Doug

If it is a wild animal only the mother can help it to survive. Put it outside and hope they come back. I doubt it. Once they hatch the M duck then heads off to the nearest or best water and feed with her brood from where they were incubated.

In Melbourne about this time of year the police are called in to stop traffic so all the ducks+brood can cross the roads.
