The Bluff-Victor Harbour

Hi,

just posting my initial combined shot (5 photos) of The Bluff down at Victor Harbour, Saturday Night.
Taken with my new canon lens - 50mm. Not sure whether I recommend getting it to anyone yet (have a bit of a problem with focus at the lowest f-stops) however, it is excellent at anything above f 2.5.

10secs, f1.4, ISO1600
roughly combined from 5 shots.

I'll repost once I've done some processing (in a couple of years, only kidding )

Hi, repost is down below...M

Michael

Michael,

That's a corker of a mosaic.

It looks otherworldly.

The fact that the clouds are black means it's a nice dark sky site. Picture is really nice.

Repost of the Bluff

Hi,

did a bit of stitching and processing of my original photos. Below is a final? piece, pity I didn't capture the whole lot, but I didn't know at the time this was what I was going to do with the photos.
Some dodgy clone work with photoshop, but it didn't turn out too bad. I've also included a zoom in of the central section.

Michael

P.S. no, I wasn't there for schoolies, that was on the following week...I'm not that silly

Hi cactus,
I love those shots - thanks for sharing.
Those kind of wide field vistas are my favourite kind of astro shot - closest thing to what the human eye can appreciate in one big gulp!
Cheers
Doug
