Yep.

We had snow on the Brindabellas...

and a variety of suburbs around the city including at my place in the north of Canberra

Didn't settle, but was weirdd to see some little snowflakes falling in the middle of November

I had a chuckle with my wife about this November weather and snow...

As we both grew up in North America we would see the occassional snow in November...I know it is extremely unusual here (been in Sydney 5.5 years) but "mentally" the weather the last few days seems right to me for November...blowy and chilly.

Who knows, maybe we can have a white Christmas in Australia!

So im not too far from getting to IISAC next year! Just down the road!
As you can see we have no lifts operating!!! If it was between June and August it'd still be there now!

I've done that! Well... almost... it has snowed in Oberon on Christmas Day during the time that I've lived here (about 20 years) - but it didn't settle.

I believe there are only two days of the year that snow hasn't fallen in Oberon in recorded history and they are both in February. I can't remember the dates...

With everyone getting snow these days it seems a bit strange to be missing out! It must be the drought!

Al.

I think they put out grazier alerts so they know to yard their shorn sheepies together to keep em warm.
You could lose your whole flock overnight otherwise.

There has been some amount of snow in Qld, around the border area near Stanthorpe, etc, as has happened previously (though nt so often in November) however I saw a report on the local tv station today that 2 different people reported snow flakes falling in the Coolum area around 5am this morning (sorry, Thursday morning, after midnight now) - for those who do not know Coolum it is on the northern end of the Sunshine Coast (approx 26 degrees south) and Coolum IS a beach community, right there on the big beautiful ocean! As far as I know snow has never been reported in or near this region, ever.

In fact - I have never seen snow, and for years I have joyfully been telling people it's all a hoax anyway, but that's another story.

Steve, I went to school at Cooroy. We had snow and sleet fall there in about '75. Mind you that was in the middle of Winter with a howling SWer. I refused to wear shorts to school after that day.
