Thanks Craig-mounted the unit before leaving,a great piece of kit really quite amazing the gear that is available now-given our talk on your journey through having many of these type of devices. I managed to download the Blackvue software and play recording in it,flipped the view as talked about. Watched this clip of cyclist riding down middle of road in rain then try and do a right turn and very nearly get run over (see still attached).

Everyone should have a dash cam-I have been talking about it for years-thankfully never needed. But pleased I have one now. Thanks for help

That's great you got everything sorted Chris.

Cyclists are using similar devices too. Plenty of mistakes made on both 2 & 4 wheels!

I suppose they may become the norm some day. In a crash you are always relying on the driver-at-fault to be truthful. In a small crash, <$5000 damage, the police use minimal resources investigating who is at fault.

In modern cars, with computers linked to many other in-vehicle systems, police are able to retrieve the date for various parameters of what the car was doing when it crashed. Similar to black boxes in large aircraft.

Did I mention that you can buy the Blackvue mount on it's own so you can swap the dashcam between cars.

Yes surprised how few people really have these apparently in some countries they are law to have them.

I think the model I bought of you is a DR 3500 (think it says that on corner of recorded footage) so I'll try and get another mount for other vehicle) although after a small taste so far likely get another similar Blackvue for it.Even wondering now about recorder for back view of vehicle.
