Another NGC 6188...

Hi all,

It has been a while since I posted anything here. Unfortunately, this image is an unfinished project. Maybe next year I will be able to add OIII and SII?

A few details:

-> 36 5-minute subs and 8 15-minute subs (from last year). Subs taken at two different angles - see if you can spot the areas where two stacks do not overlap
-> Astrodon's 3nm Ha, QSI 690 at -20C, AZ-EQ6, 4" TS doublet and the site is circa 2km from Brisbane's CBD.

Astrobin seems to be currently offline, so I uploaded higher resolution image here:

EDIT: Added Astrobin link: http://www.astrobin.com/full/262599/B/

Thank you for looking!
Suavi

! The HiRes is absolutely stunning to to look at Slawomir!
Excellent photograph, and I hope the plan to add OIII and SII comes off, because it will be superb.

Well done - Trev

Looking great mate, though I must say I'm surprised to see you targeting this again, given the exceptional job you did earlier. Hard to improve on that!

Thanks Lee!

Well, actually my last year's attempt was just a quick draft, since I was shooting from a balcony in Milton and had less than an hour a night to shoot this nebula, from the moment it emerged from above office buildings (with the lights on in all rooms...) on the opposite side of the road, and before the scope would point at the white ceiling...

I was soooooo looking forward to making a proper attempt at imaging this wonderful DSO this year, but I was overseas during winter school holidays and then my mount was playing up, so I missed it again! Third time lucky...I hope

The detail in the high res is spectacular! The central dusty regions have a very 3D effect to them.

Very different that way up, and in just H-alpha. A refreshing view. The topmost part of the nebulosity reminds me of a great thunder-cloud in the making. Beautifully processed.

Thank you Colin! I was still fine tuning the Dec axis in my mount (fiddling between setting it too tight and too much backlash), so guiding was not so great for many subs, but eventually towards the end I got it sorted

Hope you liked it on a larger screen Mike

There are some dark rings around stars, but I will leave it as is at this stage.
