saturn

took this image a couple of weeks ago and just now finished in registax. taken with a zwo asi 120mc-s with a meade sct. just a beginner so any advise much appreciated,

Nice colours in the banding you've captured there. I'm not familiar with CCD planetary cameras so I can't offer any advice there, I'm still on DSLR wheels! I can suggest you play around with the Wavelet sliders in Registax, it looks to me like you have pulled layer 5 or 6 sliders a little too far to the right. I hardly touch those layers and if I do I mostly slide them to the left to achieve a negative value. I get most of the sharpness from layer 1 to 3. Have a play, subtle movements can make big changes to the image so go easy, I use the Dyadic and Gaussian combination in Wavelets. That's a great start though and you should be happy with that image, well done.

Hi John
I'm no expert, do you own a Barlow 2* or 3 * it would increase the size of you image. Cheers John
