Post 5min Survey for Amateurs

Hi everyone,

I'm a student conducting a quick survey for market research into the hobby we all know and love.
There are 16 questions (with room for comments) which may take few mins of your time to complete.
The questions are worded to assume you own a scope but you may answer questions with a future purchase of equipment in mind if you like.

I'll leave it open for a few weeks. Any help appreciated.

Here's the link; http://www.users.on.net/~markev/survey.html

Thanks in advance!

Wow, thanks guys!

The purspose? Well, I would like an overview of what hobbyists like, dislike, features they look for, brand preferences, spending habbits etc in the products they purchase but also what you guys are building for yourselves.

I suppose the real aim in exploring the market place is to justify taking the step into looking for a product you guys would like. How about a (reasonably) priced stepper controller or a solid 20kg-30kg capacity mount made right here in Oz? Anyone interested??

Either way, is anyone would like to see the results of the survey, I'll try to find a way to post them here or on a webpage. Might be interesting no?

I'm thinking about making my own controller for my dob because it will be cheaper than an commercially available unit.

Your up for some tough competition. Anssen Technologies has recently obtained dealers in Europe I believe. http://www.anssentechnologies.com.au/

Also done. Some questions did not provide all of the options required....
Hope the survey proves useful. Do we get a free pen?

Talking Thanks!

Thanks again guys.
46 participants so far.
Thank you for the comments, sorry the survey isn't perfect cos tried to make it as painless as possible for you. (It seems I broke the market research "rules" asking for as many as 16 answers!)

It's all apreciated. Keep them comming!

I'll see about the pen thing OK?
Hmm as for the competition...... I dunno about you guys but I'd need to mortgage my house to buy one their products.
To be frank, I'm not really looking in the same direction.
Thanks for the heads up though.

Now about that pen........how would you feel about a HB?

Done,

but 2 questions were a bit hard to answer. Both of the following questions only allow 1 answer!:

Is your mount fixed or portable?
Fixed
Portable

I have both!

How would you describe your mounts performance?
It's flawless
Satisfactory
Poor
Very poor

Which one?

Sorry Ken. Yes, it does assume you have one scope in the "radio button" style questions. Slight flaw. Mia culpa! If you like you can state as much in the comments field at the end.

Thanks again guys, you've been terrific!
