Heaven will be waiting for you if you even think about getting it Houghy.
You've got nothing else that's yellow and your wife will easily spot it.

I saw her first? It was lust at first sight.

I think if you bought this one. You would have to keep her at her own place.

If I did not have the Canon 300mm F2.8L I would get it. Stop tempting yourself and us hOughy.

I have seen images produced by it. Flat and perfect across a 35mm full frame.

I am a little slow Bert, sorry. Isn't yellow symbolising danger in the wild?

Nothing to be sorry about. If we did not dream of better things, we would still be living in caves. It was vapourware when I first saw it. It has not even been available even at US $4K +++ . So it looks like it will be available soon.

I would imagine thermal stability would be its biggest drawback. The fact it weighs 22Kg means that there are serious distance tolerances between all the optical components. This is only supposition on my part.

Remember the first law of the Universe. There is no free lunch. Or in other words you can tweak a system to get one parameter better and the rest get worse.

how good could it really be Houghy

I wonder if they do Takahashi off-white? ...it's a bout the same physical size as my Mewlon...the house-hold overseer of money's might not notice. Better still, if I only ever kept one of them out in the open....

Great scope for $6,380 - http://members.ozemail.com.au/~aecclaudio/current.htm

There are a few astrographs on the market now. While presently in Europe, I've visited some imaging fairs and heading to a conference in Antwerp this Saturday. Over here, everyone is talking about the ASA astrographs - http://www.astrosysteme.at/ikreator/...tent_6-en.html

Indeed, full illumination of a 35mm frame is possible. If you are interested in seeing some results with the a 35mm CCD camera (STL11k), check out AU astrophotographer Steve Crouch's web site - http://www.pcug.org.au/~stevec/Epsil...0%20Images.htm

Very nice work.
