Bit of an experiment with star removal, following the tutorial here: http://trappedphotons.com/blog/?p=731

I will have to give this a shot tonight, not sure if it is a matter of resolution but it looks like there is a lot of nebula detail loss in both versions. I am guessing that this is caused by the removal of those tiny little stars.

A mate of mine commented that it looks like the grim reaper. Now I can't get that visual out of my head, with some soul he's claiming bottom left, and the remaining stars in the brighter nebulosity being souls already collected.

Nice job, Troy, but I can still see the remains of a couple of stars

Cheers mate. You mean in the brighter parts of the nebula? I noticed those after posting, but decided to leave for now since my comments above about grim reaper souls captured. Haha.
