Southern Pinwheel

This is from about two weeks ago.

I was mainly testing the autoguiding that night, and didn't check my focus on the main scope very often... was too busy watching squiggly lines in PHD.

As a result, the image isn't quite as sharp as it could be... thats life. I still like it though.

48-ish minutes, 15 subs, ISO 800 on a Canon 60D via an 8" Newtonian. DSS and photoshop for the processing.

Hi Geoff, I like it

You've picked up some great detail in the outer arms and I like the colours too. I know what you mean about the squiggly line in PHD. I'm still learning and the flatter the line gets the more I seem to pay attention to it as opposed to my actual image

I'm still honing my skills on polar alignment/PHD. I recently got super excited back in May when I saw this squiggly line holding steady (see attached). Always room for improvement but happy days nonetheless!

Cheers, Evan
