Vanuatu Milky Way

Arguably the most beautiful tropical island in the world Vanuatu also has quite amazing seeing. No star twinkle virtually at all on this night.

Sony A7R2, Zeiss Loxia 21mm at F3.2, ISO3200 7 panel panorama on a tipod on the beach at 3am.

Nice picture !
I know from experience that in tropical regions seeing and transparency are excellent, despite the humid hot weather. I have similar experience in Fiji, Bali and Tahiti.

I hear Florida is good as well although you wouldn't think so with the near 100% humidity.

Thanks Rick. It was a bit tough to process as the light pollution put a green cast into the image. It was a beautiful spot and despite being tired it was fun to take. The tide was coming in so I left very little to spare there as well!

I did see one place that had an observatory. Its at Paradise Cove and I think its part of some small university. A decent sized dome.

Greg.
