Point Grey Grasshopper 3 USB3 Camera

I now have some other options for my solar imaging, so looking to move this on. It is this model https://www.ptgrey.com/grasshopper3-...-icx687-camera which sells in the US for US$1295 so would cost the better part of $2k to get here. I purchased second hand last year.
It operates very well, I used FireCapture to run it which is excellent. The only drawback I found was that the AVI files produced wouldn't run on registax so had to run them through PIPP first and convert to BMP. Probably if you know how it would be easy to fix. The front mount is a C thread so you will need a C to T adaptor to use on gear that needs a T thread. they can be found here http://www.bintel.com.au/Astrophotog...oductview.aspx and I will include a USB3 cable.

Reason for sale, have other options for my solar system work and need to reduce the amount of gear I have!! I will try and find some images I have taken with this.

Price $1000 plus postage

Edit: image I have taken is attached

Just updating on this ad. As I and the SWMBO are heading of to Europe for a month in about a week and a half, I will be withdrawing this ad later this week if it hasn't sold and will readvertise when we return.
Hopefully with the election over when we get back it may move a little easier!!

Hi Malcolm

Would this camera be suited for planetary imaging?

regards
John.

I believe so, but I have only used it for solar and lunar. Attached is one of my Lunar pics I have done with this Camera
You may have to do your own research or check with more experienced planetary guys about it's suitability for other objects.
