Mars 16th May good seeing

SPX350 F41.3, PGRFlea3, Baader RGB filters.

Finally after cloud band moved seeing looked good with stars twinkle free and my star collimation looked very steady with arcs around Airy disc.

Mars had slight undulations but fine detail showed on screen for decent stretches of time. Another cloud band was developing so I only had an hour before the mackerel cloud appeared.

I got 6 sets in all seen in gif animation taken every 10 mins.

Regards, John.

Love it when you post 'good seeing' in the title, means a treat's in store. This is wonderful, and the animation is worth a long look

To John, Dunk, Dennis, Phil and all those who post their photographs of Mars, Thank you very much for your fine work.

It is VERY helpful for me as a visual observer. Can't find a Mars 'photo of the day' on the WWW, so coming to Solar System Images on IIS helps me compare what I think / imagine I am seeing to the Real Thing.

Cheers to you all.
