I have been having equipment trials but I finally managed to get to grips will collimation of my GSO RC10 (I think) and tamed my guiding issues as well. That left me free to give my (fairly) recently acquired SBig ST4000 a decent workout over the last 3 nights.
I know it is hardly state of the art these days and is a OSC as well but I am happy with these results...all are reduced to 50% to get under the 200k limit and stacks of 10 or 20 minute subs.
I would love to be able to push/sharpen the bright areas more without bloating/clipping the stars or introducing background noise, so any tips on how to do that are welcome.
Gooday John you have some great looking galaxies there with good detail.
However your white balance is off, check with your stacking program that white balance is ticked when it debayers the colour.
Or you can also do it in processing but you need a known white star to sample.
The best solution for getting more out of the data is probably to collect more data Failing that, you can try careful noise reduction and perhaps masked stretching or carefully constructed curves.
