Milky Way from semi dark site

My Milky Way data from the other night.
Not sure if I'm happy with my processing work... been going over it for the last two days. It would be interesting to see what could be done from someone who knows what they're doing. If anyones interested I'll upload the calibrated image somewhere.

A link to the calibrated image, if anyone's interested I'd love to see what someone with experience can do with it.

I spent some time getting the Dynamic background extraction right, so that has been applied to the image but it isn't cropped.

Your donwsized image looks great but I'd love to see the full size uncompressed version. The "calibrated image" comes in at 825MB and 20-25 mins to download (and in a format I probably cannot view even if I did download it). Can you turn it into a regular old tiff/png/jpeg?

Hi Tim,

You've captured an excellent image, very well done!

I don't profess to have all the answers, however happy to try and help if possible. I've used your HiRes image (PNG) and converted it to TIF and made some subsequent enhancements in Photoshop. I concentrated mainly on the Antares region to bring out the faint stuff (towards the top-left of image). There's still some data left over that could probably be teased out as well (towards right hand side of the image), however I might leave that and see what others come up with. In the meantime I hope the attached image is useful

I still have the TIF I was working on if you're interested. In the meantime, the attached image is downsized to JPG format so it will fit in the forums.

Cheers, Evan

oh cool, I didn't even notice the stuff in the top left. Also, I uploaded a TIF format of the calibrated image instead of the pixinsight format. Still 800mb though..
