Hi guys,

New member located in Rouse Hill. 43yo Dad of who loves science and technology. Also playing music (guitar) and building things.

Have been reading posts and taking it all in for a couple of weeks now. Decided to sign up a few days ago.

I'd love to check out Pony Club in central coast one night. Or any other places around that are a couple of hours from the Hills District. Even happy to stretch that, or camp on occasions.

Looking to get my 2nd scope. My first, a small refractor with EQ mount was damaged about 10 years ago but I'd love to get back into it. Not that I had it for long.

Anyway, love to come and say g'day when you have a meet and take in as much as I can. Talk to users about what they love and perhaps dislike about their scopes so I can make a good decision getting a new one. Head is around a reflector on a dobs at the moment, but that may change! Been checking out Andrews. Wow, so many choices!

Hi John, how's things mate?
Been too long between drinks, got to get together soon.

Got a good deal on a new Canon 1DX.
Canon's got a new one out soon so they did a great deal on the current model.

Hi Andrew,

I just spent 2 nights with Rod and Phil at Pilliga Pottery after Ozsky 2016 finished at Coonabarabran. I discussed with them about coming up from Kiama for either the May or June New Moon session. It is most likely to be June as I also need to coincide this trip with picking something up from Gary on my way through, which he isn't likely to have finished until late May.

The new camera sounds really good. Did you get the 1Dx Mark II or the 1Dx? Either way those chooks must lay little golden eggs

Cheers,
John B

Sounds good John, May or June, I'll make the effort to catch up, really looking forward to seeing everyone.

I got the 1Dx John, that was my dream camera and when the opportunity came up I couldn't resist.
The new MkII sounds like a great model but a little out of my reach and I'm very happy with the features of the 1Dx.

Anyway looking forward to catching up with you, Rod, Phil, Joe and all the guys soon.

RB
