Solar Filter Cell For Celestron 8" SCT

While i am waiting to receive some Baader Solar film i decided to make a cell to hold the film. yesterday i happened to be at the shopping centre and whil in The Reject Shop i spotted a item that looked fit for the job, lightweight 22.5cm diameter and multiple sections - a Bamboo Steamer $5.00.
I thought at this price worse case i can have steamed dim sims for dinner!
Took the lid and fitted it to the front, i couldn`t believe it! like it was made in the Celestron factory not only fitted but like a glove! Tight! so the base of the steamer has a grid in it and i could see it was in 2 sections the whole thing is held together by rattan stripping so using a knife i just cut the strips away. The grid came completely out of the base and the top ring came off easily. So now i had 2 rings i cut some aluminium foil to simulate the film placed it between the 2 rings and pushed the top ring over the base.
I gave the ring a coat of flat black and the end result is fantastic. I have put on some self adhesive Velcro tabs just for insurance.
Best thing once the Transit is over i am going to have those dim sims

Looking at the grid, this would make an ideal interference mask for measurement of double stars as well.
