Jupiter and Io 31 mar 1230 UT

157 frames / 840
seeing 3/10
gamma 0
gain 40%
brightness 50%
saturation 60%
5fps
1/33 exp
white balance to auto then off
f30 or fl 7500

Well this is the first in this run. I got Io on and the shadow on the planet after tweeking my collimation. those shots will follow.
This is very noisy due to heat wave we are having here. It was 24 degrees last night at 2.00 in the morning. This shot was taken at 1030 pm local. Just waiting for that final breakthrough. Need some help here from you experts.

Can't wait for the colder weather to get some good seeing.

Anyway what do you think? Will post Io on the face as soon as I can.

Now for Io on the planet. Still pretty grainy due to heat and noise, but you can clearly see the moon and its shadow very close by. Pretty happy with the results. Just would like to get better definition in the central bands.

Lovely stuff Paul, I reckon it is only the heat, once things cool down, I reckon you will be pretty close to perfect. Hard act to follow mate.

That third on is great Paul. You've captured great colour variation and detail. You'd have to be really pleased with that one.

I think bird can feel his tail feathers getting scorched at the moment , your catching up quick.
