Brian Greene on Q&A right now

Rather cool. Gravitational waves and a plea for science funding. Go watch

Tonights Q & A was one of the best I've watched, an extremely talented bunch of scientists, inspirational stuff despite the realities of a rapidly changing climate and the militaries of the world use of AI tech to kill.

Tonight’s show is so much better than the normal political discussions where the sole reason the panellists are there to score points and blame the other side for all what is wrong in the world.

Well worth watching.

I tuned in accidentally (having given up on Q&A a couple of years ago) and saw Brian Greene .... needless to say, I kept watching and found it to be an excellent discussion.

(I hope they do more of that style - ditch the politicians altogether and bring in the experts from various fields).

Yes Jacinta stole the show. It was a great night and I enjoyed it very much. I was sitting two rows behind young Jacinta- the first time ever I have been in a live TV audience

I was astounded to see the issue of the closure of the CSIRO labs that made the first round of LIGO optics and that did the coatings for Advanced Ligo make it to the panel . The chief scientist maintained that the CSIRO was still deemed to have `adequate capability ' in this area....

Its painful to see investment in labs being continually eroded. An acquaintance of mine emigrated to the Philippines in order to continue to work in his area of specialisation after another slash and burn at CSIRO made him redundant.
