Centaurus A with SN2016adj, 5th March

Another chance to image the supernova this week. Just an hour of data, but decent resolution, with the distinctively red SN clearly resolved from the nearby foreground star. It contrasts nicely with a blue (presumably foreground) star nearby along the dust belt.

100% and 200% crop here

1 hour, 200mm f/5 Newtonian on HEQ5 pro mount, OAG & StarShoot Autoguider, taken from southern Sydney. Stacked and processed in PixInsight and Photoshop.

Indeed, well captured Andy! Nice to see color images showing the redness of the SN.

Thanks everyone! I plan to have another go at this before it fades too to make a sequence. The colour is interesting - I ought to read more on the research efforts on this too to find out more about the characteristics of it.
