Perth 2015

Its been a quiet start to the year for me with my night photography.

Thought I would share a couple of images from my trip to WA in Sept last year.

Also a word of warning, read hire car T&C's there are some strange provisions in there that would be relevant to night photographers. There is 1 (maybe 2) companies that have provisions that if you hit an animal after sunset and before sunrise your fully liable for all costs. ie they wont look to make an insurance claim they will want the full cost out of you.

Anyway to the good stuff
1 - Sugarloaf Vertical 7 images with 50mm f/2 ISO6400 10 seconds as the moon was rising behind me
2 - Canon 6D 14mm f2.8 ISO3200 25 seconds
3 - Quinalup Jetty - 3 image pano Canon 6D 14mm f2.8 ISO3200 25 seconds
4 - Sugarloaf Rock 3 image pano Canon 6D 14mm f2.8 ISO6400 25 seconds
5 - Canal Rocks 27 image pano with Canon 6D 50mm f/2 ISO6400 10 seconds

Cant wait for some clear skies to get out and about this year

Yeah all fantastic captures, although the arching Milky Way could perhaps be considered as a bit over done, a good one always delights, so I think I like No. 5 best

These are great shots. Image 5 is my favourite but I really like the first pic too.

Fantastic images, Matt, and excellent lenses too (pin-sharp to the edges). Four and five are my favourites. Well done!

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

it can be tough to think of new ways to do the arching Milky Way when it gets to later in the year. Havent been out for my first night shoot yet this year
