They are no fun. I work with secure networks too and we are locked out of pretty much everything.

Cheers Petra

If you think the "fun police" are hard, try contracting to the Qld Police! The entire network is monitored, many sites are blockaded, and somebody is watching your every move. Paranoia has nothing on these boys!

Are you trying to access through the library? My wife works for the Frankston Council Library Service and she has said that they cannot ban any access, including "naughty" sites as it is considered a restriction of information access and is against one of their "prime directives" (free access to all information to all). I would expect this MAY apply to TAFE as well or any government run information access resource (library).

Dave
My experience in working with "enforcement" type organisations, like the police, is that unfortunatley they are not pleasant places to work. It doesn't surprise me that they take a heavy handed approach, I have often felt like I worked with a bunch of vindictive misfits in a very short previous life. I think its the nature of their task. Wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of the stick, as they say.
