SMC in RGB, NB and RGB+NB

This is just a hint of what is there with a fast scope. More work needed!

I've really enjoyed your focus on the Magellanic Clouds Bert, and think you might well end up with perhaps the most complete study of these objects than anyone else has ever achieved. A not inconsiderable achievement. And a valuable one.
I have seen things that surprised, intrigued, and just generally pleased me, in the photos. it's been very satisfying being your audience.
Very glad your back sharing them with us.
Thanks - Trevor

Like the NB version, quite dramatic, love seeing all the emission within the SMC, we often think there isn't much... but clearly there is plenty

All good Bert but I like #2 the best. Nice and contrasty with sharply delineated detail.

That looks great. The nebulosity is very apparent and striking. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments all.

Here is the NII data as it was taken at 12x32 min subs with all my flexure and alignment problems nearly tamed. 5MB

Here is a 16bit tiff unstretched of the data 32 MB to play with.

I may be deluded but in my opinion a fast small system like mine with very high quality 3nm narrow band filters will show more faint nebulousity than any much larger scope with 7nm filters or wider.

It also does this at a relatively wide field. I think of my system as a forward scout to get info on viable and interesting faint targets for others with slower astrographs but much greater resolution.

As an example the second cropped image shows what looks like a SNR a bit like the Vela SNR and Crab Nebula.
