X planes

The 'X' planes could be coming back

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencete...ne-design.html

Remember the X-15, the space plane that nearly was ? USA could have been in space long before Russia if they have cleared a suitable flight plan. It had vectoring motors in the nose and tail and was all set to go but the program was stopped.
Maybe some of those futuristic designs we've seen around will come to fruition.

Cool

Considering the X-35 isn't that old, and only jut going into production, I didn't think the X planes had ever gone.

There has been no new projects for some time. X-35 is quite an old piece of hardware now. Funding was stopped several years ago.

Not being picky, but the X-37 is still a current project. Sounds like most government organisations, when it's a slow news week, let's re-announce stories about things we are already doing as new news.
