Where is Coldknights?

Does anyone know where Coldknights is? They haven't been on here for just over half a year.

Contacted them via PM/email but got no reply.

I hope everything is ok.

Hi Stefan,

I've often wondered what happened to Brendan Mitchell, he was really helpful when I first joined IIS 4 years ago, even his website has been taken off the air. Must have lost interest I suppose.

Regards
Bill

As far as I recall, Brendan allegedly stole an expensive mount from another IISer and disappeared from the site immediately thereafter.

That's a shame to hear.

They made custom cables and stuff which were very handy!

The real story is the Kunama story. Brendan was still going to University finishing a Civil Engineering degree while working in a civil firm with many projects on the boil. Brendan was given a heavy load and could not cope with both engineering and Astronomy. He lived an hour from the Perth CBD, so had no extra time before or after work/uni. Passion turned to pressure and he "tuned out", leaving everything he had committed to behind.

I had lunch with him while this was going on trying to help out the person who owned the mount and told Brendan he really needed to get the mount back even if he didn't complete the tuning... he told me he would, but alas, it did not happen. A shame really, as he's a nice guy, just couldn't deliver when the pressure was on. I suspect that the reason he isn't in engineering anymore is for the same reason.

Oh well,
OIC!

The real story is that he nicked it, - regardless of how or why. But yes, Matt is strictly speaking correct in the way the theft was carried out.

Sorry to have diverted the thread away from your original enquiry about 'Coldknights' Stefan.

Well it was me that brought the subject up and I should apologise to Stefan for the thread being hijacked.
At least the thread gets bumped up to the top and someone may have an answer to the situation with 'Coldknights'.

Very sorry to hear the circumstances with Brendan, as I said he really helped me out in my novice days.

Cheers
Bill

Aaah! Glad to now know that he's still alive and well in "deafening silence" mode now so can track him down ... just got to have a chat with him that's all.

Cheers

Where is Coldknights?

Hi Stefan,
To get back to you original reason for this post, Coldnights (Cathy) closed her business on 9/4/2015 because the reduction of the Australian dollar made it uneconomical to continue making her products, parts for which I believe were sourced from the US. Her last post explaining this is in the Archives.
Cheers,
Andrew.
