Has Adelaide been terrible lately?

Has anyone from Adelaide noticed the real bad weather lately? There have been no clouds or moon for the last few nights, however the seeing and transparency have been poor to say the least. Maybe a 3/10 tops. Just letting off some steam as I drove for 2 hours getting to a dark sight last night, only to find the viewing so poor, even though there was no moon or clouds

VERY frustrating to say the least. Tonight is the same story.

Does anybody from Adelaide notice this? Or is it just real bad in the north of Adelaide???

There has been continual upper atmospheric haze here too, most likely caused by forestry burnoff activity. The transparency here is abysmal, except after periods of rain and has been so for the past 6 months or so.

So frustrating eh?

The thing is when you look at the sun going down, the sky turns a very deep dark blue, indicating that transparency should be good. However it has been anything but good. My new 16" scope hasnt had any good seeing yet above 2/10.

Poor Viewing

I thought the viewing was bad also. We had a good run of dark nights at Reynella (30K Sth of Adelaide) but I packed up by 11 P.
