frog inspired post

G'day. Been a while since I took some photos. These are all frog-inspired shots - mostly small (20-30mm long) frogs from Mount Coot-Tha Botanical Gardens this morning, and also a frogmouth shot from my back deck. Click links below for bigger Flickr images.

1. Cute little fella with a nice/different pose.
2. Thought this one was interesting. Poor little guy seems to have been born without a left eye. There looks like a socket, but skin grown over no eye-ball.
3. What happens when frogs watch too much TV - they get square eyes Unusual shaped pupils.
4. Another view of square-eyes.
5. Frogmouth from back deck at home.
6. Another little froggie.
7. And another.
8. And another.

Thx mate. The macros were 5DII, Sigma 150 macro lens with 68mm of extension tubes. The frogmouth was same camera with Canon 100-400L.

the frog with the square eyes is called perons tree frog, one of only two frogs with bifurcated irises, here is one in breading colours
