This dragon fly was on my front end loader at 6am this morning, so I took it into the house, and set the airconditioning at 16C to slow its activity. It has a wingspan of 100mm.
The first image is taken with an old 1970's vintage Minolta MD 35-70 zoom set on "macro" 1:4 scale, at f22, 1/60 sec and iso 3200. The second image of just the dragon fly's eye reveals the mosaic of 1000's of hexagonal lenses that make up the dragons eye. It is taken with an old 1970's vintage Minolta MD 100mm F4 Macro set 1:1 scale with the lens set at f16, 1/100sec, iso 3200, and led torch for light. Cropped about 30%. The camera body is a Sony Nex7. Hope they are worth a look. Mark
