IC342 deep field

The IC342 is located in an area of the sky permeated by material belonging to our galaxy. I tried to do a long exposure to be able to highlight the nebulosity of the area. In the image appear the weak arms of the galaxy too. I have also done a good number of exposure in RGB and although I have not done Halpha, in the red channel will highlight the areas of Halpha . I hope you like it

Yes, a fantastic project Fabiomassimo! Beautiful work, enjoyed viewing it. Funny how this galaxy really gets lost among the stars in the field, like it is mixed in with them.

Very well done.

Mike

That is a truely stunning image Fabio. It was Carl Sagan that said something to the effect of "Billions and billions of stars", this says it all.

Really wonderful image Fabio - lots of fine detail and rich colour.

You have done a fine job of recording the surrounding nebulosity and reddening of the galaxy itself due to the intervening dust in the Milky Way.

It's a beautiful image Fabiomax. There is also a lot of potential for various processing too and I have been having a play with reducing the reds, and increasing contrast and it stands up well.
Really good image.

Placidus,alpal,strongmanmike,Atmos, Shirazmarc4darkskies,Somnium,andyc, rustigsmed , Regulus:

I'm really excited by your wonderful comments........ thank you!!

For me it was a long process and I'm really glad to have these words in a High-Level Forum as IceInSpace!

As for the color I tried to do some exposure for RGB just to learn more. In fact, I have found, perhaps more than other subjects, really many interpretations on the color of the IC342.

Thank you again,

Fabiomax
