My Local Landscape

A few photos from a few weeks ago taken about 10mins drive from home on the way from Devonport to Forth.
The farmers have done an amazing job co-ordinating the paddock art this year .

The last one is not well focused, but the design is evident. I had it on a tripod and left the Anti-Shake (IS) turned on.

the thing that comes to mind when looking at these is that you must have beautifully dark skies

We do. It's a short drive to a dark sky site from home, and quite tolerable for just doing some 'sky-surfing' even from the verandah in Devonport. In fact even from the bigger cities (Hobart and Launceston) you really aren't very far from one.
